VISIT WEBSITESunnyland is a Greek real-estate developer founded in 2019 by economist and author Aristides Belles. It develops luxury residences along the Athenian Riviera and select hospitality assets across Greece, working with its own architects, procurement team and civil engineers on every site, and treats each residence as a serious investment decision built to hold its value.
The Project
Sunnyland sells homes that take years to build, to buyers who want to know exactly what is happening on their site and to partner agents who need answers fast. The brief to Ruler went well beyond a showcase website: a bilingual platform that tells the brand story in Greek light, runs twelve projects and their units from one structured back end, arms sales agents with print-ready unit information, and gives every owner a private window onto the progress of the home they have bought.

Web Design & Development
Ruler designed and built a custom WordPress platform that carries that trust through every audience it serves, from a first-time visitor to a partner agent to an owner checking on their site.
The public site is composed from a library of custom Gutenberg blocks we built for the brand: hero, ongoing-projects slider, portfolio grid, investment opportunities, story and statistics, FAQ and newsletter. The Sunnyland team assembles and edits pages in the native editor, in English and Greek, without touching a line of code. Underneath, projects, units and project updates live as structured content types wired to one another, so a change to a unit's stage or price shows up everywhere it matters at once.
Two portals sit on that same data. The Agent Portal opens with a passphrase and gives sales partners the whole picture in one screen: every project with location, current stage, live availability, price list, architectural plans and renders, filterable by type, with each unit's information laid out for print so an agent can hand a client a clean sheet on the spot. The Client Portal is the owner's side of the same story: a personal login issued at handover, monthly construction updates and photos, and the progress of their specific home, not a generic project page.
Art direction stays close to the architecture itself: terracotta and warm sand, a serif that echoes the curved balconies, full-bleed renders and video, and motion reserved for the moments that reward it. The result is a platform that sells the residences, runs the sales operation and keeps every owner informed, all from one back end the team controls.
LIGHTHOUSE OPTIMIZATION
A homepage built from full-bleed renders and a video footer has every excuse to be slow. Sunnyland is not. On desktop Lighthouse the first content paints in 0.5s and the hero render, the largest element on the page, lands in 0.7s; total blocking time is 30ms and layout shift 0.009, so nothing jumps while you read. Every image ships as WebP, the hero carries fetchpriority="high" while the 34 images below the fold load lazily, and the Adobe and Google font origins are preconnected so the serif arrives with the layout. Accessibility and SEO both score 100: semantic Gutenberg blocks, WCAG AA contrast on terracotta and sand, labelled portal forms, hreflang between the English and Greek pages, structured data and hand-written titles and descriptions on every page. Performance is design nobody screenshots. We do it anyway.
The collaboration with the Ruler team was impeccable. Professionalism through schedules, organization, and a team that knows what they are doing, has a plan, technical knowledge and perspective, all of this combined with their creativity.
