VISIT WEBSITECygnus is a cybersecurity advisory and managed-services firm supporting organizations in complex, regulated and safety-critical sectors, including shipping and other high-scrutiny industries. It helps operators strengthen resilience and meet frameworks such as BIMCO’s guidelines through managed detection and response, security assessments and personnel training.
The Project
Cygnus needed a website as distinctive as its positioning in high-scrutiny cybersecurity. Ruler delivered the rebrand and a custom build with a signature motion identity — an origami swan that assembles, shatters and re-forms on scroll — set against a living, aurora-like gradient. The result is a memorable, high-craft presence that signals precision and trust.

Cygnus operates in cybersecurity for high-scrutiny, regulated sectors, where credibility is everything. The brief to Ruler was a site that felt as precise and considered as the work — so we paired the rebrand with a custom WordPress build and a motion identity you do not forget.
The centrepiece is the origami swan from the Cygnus mark: as you scroll, it assembles from flat planes, breaks apart, and re-forms — a scroll-scrubbed animation built with GSAP / ScrollTrigger and WebGL (Three.js). Behind it sits a living, aurora-inspired gradient that drifts like the northern lights, and a day / night toggle flips the entire palette between light and dark.
Content is structured for the team to run themselves — Services and News as managed content types with dynamic listings — and enquiry journeys are protected with reCAPTCHA. The build is fast, responsive and SEO-ready, turning a specialist cybersecurity brand into a striking, high-craft digital experience.
